The so called #pestminister “scandal” has trivialised sexual assault and sexual violence. If the feminists who have stoked this faux outrage get their way, it is women who will ultimately be most harmed.
The rise of identity politics must be one of the worst things to have come out of the last decade. Combining this identity politics with control of language is one of the lefts most powerful weapons. Observing this, one realises just how much of a genius George Orwell was. Last week we saw this deadly combination used with ruthless efficiency.
The definition of sexism and what constitutes victimhood seems to be widening by the day. There is a world of difference between Damien Green watching a porno, Michael Fallon’s bumbling idiotic behaviour and the multiple accusations of rape levelled at Harvey Weinstein. Conflating these things gives the Weinstein’s of this world an invisibility cloak. This should be patently obvious to anyone thinking about this rationally.
This list of “creepy” MP’s, which did the rounds across the media, included numerous consensual relationships and subjective crimes. There seems to be nothing but anecdotal evidence for anything on it. The people who drew up this list have remained anonymous, while the accused are having their reputations dragged through the mud. This is not justice. This to me is the classic insidious attempt used by feminists to try to control male sexuality. The equivalent of slut shaming. If you truly believed in equality, you would surely want freedom for both genders.
Any women who speaks out against this nonsense is hit back, not with logic and reason, but by being called traitors to their gender, accused of internalised misogyny. Guilty of heresy against the religion of feminism. Yet the vast majority of women do not identify as feminists. Fifty two percent of white women in the U.S. voted for Donald Trump against the entitled feminist candidate. The media storm around this, is a product of the Westminster bubble.
If you are man and you challenge this behaviour, well then you better be ready for the name calling that will surely ensue. Sexist, misogynist, mansplainer, creep etc. the list is endless. It is no surprise then that most men simply stay silent. When Harriet Harman comes onto our screens we roll our eyes and ignore her, a bit like people who go on the underground without a wash in the morning, she and her kin have become an irritation we have come to tolerate.
To those brave men that do stand up for themselves. If after insulting you, robbing you of your masculinity and accusing you of hate crimes, the feminists have not worn you down, then they then proceed to using the deadliest weapon in their arsenal. The bending of language designed to shame you. Feminism is about equality they say. Surely you see that giving up individual liberty and freedom is necessary to create equality.
This is the same tactic the Bolsheviks used a hundred years ago to sweep to power. And when you think about it, ideologically feminism shares a lot with Marxism. To Marxists the bogey man is capitalism, to the feminists the bogey man is the patriarchy. Both believe the enlargement of the state will give them what they want. You will often here these people talk in disingenuous language. We need to give more power to the working class. Code for, you should give more power to me. We need to give more power to women. Code for, you should give more power to me. In the exact same way that the Bolsheviks did the most damage to the people they claim to represent, the working class. If we were ever to get a feminist government, it is women who will be most harmed.
For a conservative government, there are two things it must do in response to all of this. First, look at what more we can do to catch and prosecute genuine sex offenders. Second, not allow the left to use a serious issue like this as a stick to beat all men. If the government does these two things, it will look strong and stable while the opposition will appear to the public, out of touch fools.
